03Hamsa Home Care service
Dementia & Alzheimer's
Steady, familiar, kind.
Dementia care isn't about doing more — it's about doing it the same way, every time. Predictable routines, calm voices, familiar objects, and a caregiver who already knows that 4 p.m. is when the questions get harder.
Our dementia caregivers are trained in approaches like redirection, validation, and gentle cueing. They watch for the small signs that something is changing — a shift in appetite, a new word being repeated, restlessness at sundown — and they keep the family informed.

Common questions
About our dementia & alzheimer's service.
Are your caregivers trained specifically for dementia care?
Yes. Our dementia specialty training covers communication techniques (redirection, validation, simple cueing), routine design, sundowning, wandering prevention, and how to handle hard moments — like a client not recognizing a family member — without escalating them.
What kind of routines and approaches do you use?
We build a daily rhythm around what's already familiar — favorite music, family photos, well-loved meals — and protect it. Caregivers use short, calm sentences, give choices of two (not five), and lean into reminiscence rather than correction. The home stays the home.
Can dementia care be combined with other services like personal care?
Yes — most of our dementia clients receive personal care too. The difference is in how it's delivered: slower pace, clear narration, the same caregiver every visit. We package both together so the family only deals with one plan.
How do you handle changes in a client's condition over time?
Dementia care has to flex. We reassess the plan as the condition progresses — increasing hours, adding overnight or live-in support, adjusting techniques — and we keep the family in the loop with regular check-ins. The goal is no surprises.
